Enabling Circular Economies of Recyclable Materials Through Matrix Completion

Data icon, disabled. Four grey bars arranged like a vertical bar chart.

An integral part in improving our recycling process is the development of circular economies. One of the major hindrances to the development of circular economies is the incompleteness of commodity flow data. To tackle this problem, the research team aims to leverage matrix completion methods to fill in missing information. Initially, the methods will be developed and tested using data from corn production. Corn was specifically selected as it has existing data that is exhaustive and easily accessible.
