Swelling Studies of PEG/PPG-Polyurethane Polymers for Medical Applications

This study seeks to better understand how polymers comprised of different ratios of polypropylene glycol (PPG) and poly-ethylene glycol (PEG) will affect the polymers swelling and properties for biomedical applications. Using polymers in biomedical devices could provide a more compact and efficient drug delivery system that can both be biodegradable or long lasting depending on the monomer composition. Future works would study how varying ratios of monomers would all affect drug diffusion out of the polymer and degradation of the polymers in a body-like environment.
