Near-Field Radiative Heat Transfer Between Hexagonal Boron Nitride Nanotubes

Radiative heat transfer between two planar surfaces can exceed blackbody limits when its separation distance is less than the characteristic wavelength of thermal radiation. In this MORE research, preliminary mathematical calculations are performed to theoretically study near-field radiative heat transfer between boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) thin films. It is a daunting challenge to experimentally characterize the near-field radiative heat transfer with separation distance in the order of nanometers. The theoretical results will provide guidelines and facilitate a successful experimental study in the near future.
