Chemical Gradient Fabrication through Electrospinning
Musculoskeletal diseases plague the lives of 50 percent of people over the age of 18, costing Americans 45 billion dollars per year. This research aims to create a novel technique through electrospinning and is based on creating a proper template for regeneration of tendon-bone injuries, one of the most common musculoskeletal issues. The nanofibers that were the result of this research exhibit the characteristics of the native tissue. The chemical gradient that this initiative is trying to create is the first step toward improving the quality of life of millions of Americans in an affordable way.
