Analyzing Heart Failure Progression Across Different Social Groups

Heart failure (HF) is a chronic, progressive, and degenerative disease, and its progression is greatly affected by the accessibility and quality of healthcare services available to patients. This is heavily affected by social factors such as demographic, ethnic, anthropometric, and geographic factors, commonly referred to as social determinants of health. This project seeks to pinpoint undermining factors of healthcare inequality and identify underserved populations by categorizing a cohort of HF patients into the aforementioned categories and longitudinally examining the trajectory of clinical biomarkers using statistical analysis and unsupervised learning.
