Synthesis on 2D Quantum RTe3 and Characterization to Confirm its CDW States

In the Rare-earth-Tri-telluride family, RTe3s [R=La, Ce, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Er, Ho, Tm] the emergence of Charge Density Waves (CDWs) has been under investigation for a long time due to broadly tunable (electrical) properties by either chemical substitution or pressure application. Elemental Rare-earth metal and Tellurium, purity 99%, was used in synthesis by Chemical Vapor Transport, which resulted in single crystals of RTe3. Then These RTe3s were characterized to confirm CDW states by the presence of Phonon Softening and CDW transition temperature.
