The Incorporation of Electric Vehicle Chargers with Photovoltaic Systems through Load Management

Sustainable living is becoming more popular with innovations in solar, or photovoltaic (PV), energy and electric vehicles (EVs). However, EV chargers still often supply energy from nonrenewable sources. Therefore, this project seeks to complete the renewable energy cycle of EVs by using PVs to power chargers using load management. Load management (LM) cuts out traditional power conversion systems and instead changes the number of cars connected as the level of available solar power changes throughout a day. The researcher’s work involves further developing this LM system with different electronic device sizing to optimize power input.
