Epileptic Seizure Detection and Prediction

Health icon, disabled. A red heart with a cardiac rhythm running through it.

Epilepsy is the 3rd most common neurological disorder in the United States. Despite continuous research efforts, 30% of those with epilepsy have uncontrolled seizures, and its unpredictability can become disabling. This project is a continuation from FURI fall 2019 and will analyze EEG, biological, and environmental data to detect, and ultimately predict the oncoming of epileptic seizures utilizing a variety of machine learning tools and algorithms. This project will set the framework for combining current research efforts to evaluate if any improvement can be obtained.
