Parametric Modeling and Sizing of Small Fixed-Wing UAVs

Obtaining quick and accurate structural and mass property estimates in the early stages of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) design is often challenging due to a limited number of tools for projects of this scale. Research was conducted on the feasibility and set-up of parametric models capable of iterating through and analyzing a wide range of geometric configurations. Several essential components including landing gear and wing structure were modeled allowing for the optimization of weight based on expected loads.
