Design of a Low-Power 40 kHz Ultrasonic Transceiver Front-End for RF-Restricted Environments
Wireless communication faces limitations in environments where radio-frequency (RF) signals cause interference or are subject to restrictions. This study examines the design of a low-power 40 kHz ultrasonic transceiver front-end as an alternative communication approach. The proposed system incorporates a resonant transmitter and a high-gain receiver, both optimized for energy efficiency and signal integrity. Circuit-level strategies such as amplifier optimization, duty cycling, and robust detection methods are investigated. The objective is to achieve reliable short-range communication with milliwatt-level power consumption, thereby advancing energy-efficient, non-RF wireless solutions suitable for sensitive and regulated settings.
