Electrochemical Evaluation of Recycled Graphite in Half- and Full-cell Configurations with LFP Cathodes

Building on prior work that identified effective rapid thermal processing (RTP) conditions for recycling graphite from spent lithium-ion batteries, this project advances to evaluating the electrochemical performance of the recovered materials. The recycled graphite is fabricated into new electrodes and tested in both half-cell and full-cell configurations, using LFP as the counter-electrode material. Electrochemical analysis, including galvanostatic cycling, rate capability, and impedance measurements are conducted under various operating conditions to assess stability, capacity retention, and kinetics. This approach aims to establish correlations between recycling process parameters, electrode structure, and electrochemical performance. The outcomes will provide critical insights into the viability of recycled graphite as a sustainable anode material in next-generation lithium-ion battery systems.
