Effect of Heat Treatment Process Parameters on the Performance of Recycled Graphite from Spent Lithium-Ion Batteries

This project aims to identify effective methods for recycling graphite from spent anode electrodes. The main components of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) include a negative electrode (anode), a positive electrode (cathode), an electrolyte, and a separator. The research team focuses on the effects of thermal treatment on the recycling process, especially how the temperature impacts the properties of graphite without causing damage. This investigation uses the Rapid thermal machine (RTP) to remove the impurities of spent graphite. This approach examines various parameters, including temperatures, atmospheric gases, and durations, to identify the most effective parameter that minimizes contamination while being suitable for large-scale use.
