Microwave Non-Destructive Evaluation Using Conformal Metasurface Antennas

This research project aims to analyze the effectiveness of sensing using conformal metasurfaces antennas (CMA). The successful imaging inside of non-metallic objects has previously been done with the use of traditional multiple-antenna arrays, although the systems to support this are far more complex than a proposed two-port CMA system. The CMAs used will generate a frequency-diverse radiation pattern in order to sense a target object when a frequency sweep is applied. The antennas will be tested to determine their ability to sense metallic targets within a non-metallic pipe at different discretized locations within the pipe.
