Plastic Domain of the Stress Field Between Nanoindentation and AFM PFQNM of Heterogeneous Materials

The author will propose research investigating multiple heterogeneous materials’ micro- and nano-mechanical characterizations in the plastic region using Nanoindentation and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). This research will address the mechanical properties and attempt to find a relationship between the stress fields evaluated at multiple scales. Investigating nanomechanical properties is key to developing materials that are adaptive and intelligent for a weight issue on spacecraft, or producing energy sources that become more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable.
