Revolutionizing Formaldehyde Lead Halide Perovskite Solar Cells with Additive-Mediated Ion Migration Control
Harnessing the power of ionic additives, our research studies Formamidinium lead iodide perovskite solar cells, a stable class of materials that is often difficult to process due to phase transitions to non-semiconductor phases. This research will tackle mobile ion migration, a key hurdle in perovskite technology with alkali cation additives that enable crystallization based on achieving a stable crystal structure. The concentration of mobile ions, a source of degradation and hysteresis, has been significantly curtailed. This breakthrough maintains perovskite solar cells’ cost-effectiveness, making them an even more compelling option for solar energy. This study elucidates the mechanisms underpinning these enhancements, offering a promising path toward reliable, efficient, and affordable solar energy conversion.
