Measuring and Controlling Mobile Ion Concentration to Improve Operational Stability in Perovskite Thin Films

Energy icon, disabled. An orange lightning bolt.

Perovskite solar cells have seen one of the fastest improvements in the class of renewable energy in the past decade and they have shown a tremendous improvement in terms of efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This research is focused on improving operational stability by adding ionic additives to limit undesirable ionic motion while promoting desirable electronic motion in perovskite solar cells. This is achieved by studying and measuring the mobile ion concentration using the tool called PAIOS which is used for the electrical and optical characterization of perovskite solar cells.
