Fabricate Holey Structure to Improve Capacitive Performance of Graphene
Drilling nanosized holes on the graphene basal plane can improve its capacitance and create an efficient ion transport pathway. To take advantage of this effect, the holey graphene-based electrode was be fabricated successfully by microwave-assisted chemical etching and the microstructure of nanosized holes was observed by SEM. Using the cyclic voltammetry(CV), galvanostatic charge/discharge(GCD) test, it was found that the nanosized holes can improve the electrochemical performance. Through the project, a high energy density holey graphene-based electrode was designed, which can open up exciting opportunities for mobile power supply in diverse applications.
