Engineering Student Retention Analysis

Education icon, disabled. A purple mortarboard.

Due to the unending need for engineers, ASU has a vested interest in maintaining and increasing the retention of their first-time freshman engineering students. This research aims to utilize linear and non-linear modeling to predict student retention probabilities and create a dashboard tool for the different advising departments to use. The models will provide accurate predictions and the dashboard tool will allow advising staff to identify students needing intervention. In the future, this project will attempt to identify impactful intervention techniques through further statistical analysis and residual testing.
