Effects of Cognitive Task Difficulty on Reaction Time During Dual Tasking

Health icon, disabled. A red heart with a cardiac rhythm running through it.

Dual-tasking causes task prioritization and can significantly impact reaction time because it requires processing more information. Understanding the effect is essential for driving, sports, and fall prevention. This experiment examines how multitasking and the difficulty of the cognitive load affect reaction time and game performance. In this project, young adults are put under the stress of performing cognitive tasks of varying difficulty levels while simultaneously taking part in a reaction time test. Analysis will explore the relationship between cognitive load and motor control, providing insights into task prioritization and performance.
