Development of an Assistive Soft Robotic Device

Health icon, disabled. A red heart with a cardiac rhythm running through it.

The soft properties that give soft robotics its name make it an ideal choice for working with people. This project focuses on designing and evaluating soft robotics actuators in order to create a device for assisting impaired users with the activities of daily life. Thus far, this project has resulted in the design and evaluation of a soft robotic arm. Future work will focus on improving the control system and investigating other soft actuators to produce a lighter, more compact design.
