Design And Mechanical Analysis Of Thermogalvanic Brick

Energy icon, disabled. An orange lightning bolt.

Buildings consume 40% of energy generated globally with an expected 50% increase by 2050. This calls for a sustainable conservative approach of energy generation for buildings. The researcher seeks to utilize the temperature difference across the brick walls of buildings to generate energy to reduce energy consumption. This research plans to investigate the effect of the brick’s mechanical properties on its performance. A lattice structure is used to increase the mechanical properties of the brick for which the researcher hopes to optimize its volume fraction and material composition. This would have a great impact on the building and construction industry.
