Data Offloading in 5G Wireless Networks

Implementation and testing of data offloading in 5G wireless networks can be accomplished using Software Defined Radio (SDR). Machine learning classification techniques can be applied to identify receiver locations, then deep learning methods utilize the channel data from one receiver to estimate the channel at another, potentially eliminating training overhead for certain channels. Base stations can then schedule users by leveraging global channel knowledge. These techniques could be employed in the future to reduce the burden on the Base Stations by allowing users to cooperate and relay data to each other.
