Collecting Data to Determine if Startle Correlates to a Successful Step Response in Stroke Survivors

Health icon, disabled. A red heart with a cardiac rhythm running through it.

This research involves processing data to understand if startle is linked to the mechanics of a proper step response in order to prevent falls in stroke survivors. The research team’s motivation centers around discovering if the activation of the Sternocleidomastoid (SCM) correlates to a successful fall.
