Characterization of Battery Stability Through Impedance Characterization for Sodium Ion Batteries

Energy icon, disabled. An orange lightning bolt.

The objective of this research is to study battery degradation on sodium ion batteries, a more sustainable alternative to lithium ion due to the large presence of the material. The research performed on the sodium ion batteries will be done through a characterization technique known as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). There are two types of EIS, one applying current and one applying potential, and both will be examined to determine which is more effective to study battery degradation and characterize sodium ion batteries, a promising sustainable alternative to lithium ion.
