Advancing Drug Delivery Systems: Building a Model for Thin Film Double-Layer Polyurethanes

Thin-film drug delivery systems have emerged as efficient means to administer medication across biological settings, due to their ease, speed, and effectiveness. They have provided a convenient and non-invasive approach to drug administration across various applications, including oral films, skin patches, and ocular treatments. Furthermore, advancements in thin-film drug research have allowed researchers to deliver controlled drug releases at specific rates and locations within affected areas. This project aims to build a mathematical model of thin film double-layer polyurethanes in hopes of paving the way for future bioengineers to tailor and precisely target their drug delivery using similar materials.
