The Effects of an Optimized Learning Environment on Student Engagement and Success

With the growing number of students attending universities, there is an increased demand for efficiency of lecture material. A common solution to this problem is using a one-sided lecture where students tend to disengage and retain less information than more interactive strategies. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of an interactive desk space on student engagement and collaboration. Both of these factors have been seen to increase retention and learning. Research on the implementation of devices that promote interactivity and collaboration shall reveal if the practical application of these concepts increases student learning.
