Use of Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy to Quantify Thermal Re-distribution of Iodine and Lead in Metal Halide Perovskite Films
In this research, ionic behavior of key elements in Perovskite thin films is observed by using a Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy (GD-OES). Metal halide Perovskites (MHP) exhibit ion migration because of lower activation energy in the presence of heat. To investigate that further, redistribution of mobile ions in the MHP film was studied from the systematic thermal aging process at different temperatures using GD-OES. These results are helpful to identify the relationship between the ionic behavior and the degradation mechanism. Recommended future work is to perform longer exposures and cross-correlate against other characterization tools to quantify the degradation of the MHP films.
