Multimodal Interlaminar Fracture of Soft/Hard Layered Materials

This research study aims to enhance the Mixed-Mode Bending (MMB) method developed for reducing the effects of delamination in composite materials. Despite several revisions of previous research studies, the strain energy release rates and geometric nonlinearities that arise remain significant. As such, this study will attempt to address these challenges and develop a standardized technique to improve interlaminar fracture toughness in composites.
