Scenario-Based Testing and Driving Assessment Metrics Validation

As the automobile industry transitions toward deploying automated vehicles, lingering concerns exist about safety and public trust. To attain public trust, it is imperative to first establish the safety of the AVs through a safety case-based framework. This project focuses on a component of the framework, scenario-based testing to assess the performance of the AV as it navigates scenarios in its expected operating design domain. Specifically, this project evaluates driving assessment metrics and methodologies in simulation in order to develop the driving assessment score for a given navigation.
