Dual-Additive Engineering to Improve Electronic and Mechanical Properties of Metal Halide Perovskites

This project focuses on enhancing the manufacturability and stability of solution-processed perovskite solar cells to improve their commercial viability. The approach combines two types of additive engineering: a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) as an electronic additive to enhance charge transport, and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a mechanical additive to improve film stability and morphology. The study evaluates how each strategy affects film quality, characterized using photoluminescence (PL), microscopy, and a depth-profiling technique to quantify how SAM and PVP alter the elemental distribution within the perovskite film. These insights aim to inform scalable fabrication methods for durable perovskite materials in energy-integrated electronic applications.
