Reducing the Impact of Rapid Humidity Changes During Perovskite Crystallization Using Moisture-Absorbing Additives

This project investigates the extent to which rapid humidity shifts affect solution-processed perovskite crystallization. This work utilizes a custom-built humidity shift chamber to systematically study and control the ambient humidity during processing. Additionally, it evaluates the effectiveness of moisture-absorbing additives such as polyethylene glycol, which are commonly used to improve perovskite stability after processing, to determine whether they provide similar benefits under dynamic humidity changes during processing. This research aims to improve the feasibility of manufacturing perovskite solar cells in open-air environments–where humidity can fluctuate rapidly–to support future efforts in enhancing the stability and scalability of perovskite solar cells.
