Crowd-Sourced Service Utilizing Device Network to Facilitate Emergency Intervention

Bystander intervention during individual emergencies has been shown to greatly reduce mortality rates, however such intervention is often limited by distance and human behavior. This research aims to design and implement a network of devices that extend the distance and increase the likelihood of intervention during such emergencies. Privacy, potential for abuse, optimization, and the comparison of distributed and centralized networks will be investigated. Future research will adapt the findings to an application relating to group emergencies.
