Crop Analysis Through Photos

The research is designing a program to better assist a farmer with understanding the crops’ health and understanding possible crop health hazards present, while also being relatively inexpensive. The current approach is to separate photos into their red, green, and blue components and using an image processing algorithm that highlights areas of the healthiest to least healthy crop. Typically, the more green the plant is, the healthier it is. Future work for the research project includes refining the color schemes, working with near-infrared photos, and refining and making the software more user-friendly.
