Analysis of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Forces to Prevent ACL Tears
There are approximately 200,000 ACL tears a year solely in the United States. With such a high volume of ACL injuries occurring every year, it is vital to find a way to counteract these injuries. Through the analysis of tibial torque, tibial acceleration, and knee flexion angles, that will be obtained using electrical hardware, the risk of ACL tears will be quantified and a bracing mechanism will be used to enforce the reduction of that risk. The end goal is to obtain a brace that will be able to reduce risk factors that lead to ACL tears.
