Machine Learning-Guided Optimization of Perovskite Films Using In-Situ Imaging

Perovskite solar cells are promising because they are efficient and inexpensive to make using solution-based printing methods, but producing consistent, high quality films remains difficult.  Defects in perovskite films often occur because of uneven drying and crystal formation. This project explores the integration of in-situ imaging with machine learning to improve perovskite film fabrication. By capturing real time imaging data, the study aims to develop ML models that analyze patterns and predict defects or inconsistencies after processing. Insights from ML predictions will refine fabrication parameters which will create a continuous loop that improves film quality more rapidly than human-based intuition.
