Low Power Intrusion Detection By Measuring Electric Field Disturbances
Currently, many intrusion detection systems employ infrared detection as a means of detecting intrusive behaviors in a certain area. While effective in a controlled environment, the main flaws of these systems come from being easily triggerable due to changes in light as well as consuming high amounts of power in order to operate. This project aims to fix those concerns, where disturbances in electric fields will be used as the key for detecting intrusion as well as designing the system around low-power electronics in order to ideally bring the power consumption to around 10-15 milliwatts.
