Investigating the Performance of 3D-printed Sorbents for Direct Air Capture of CO2
Since the industrial revolution around 1750, global emissions of CO2 have increased more than 46% being the major cause of global warming. In this research the moisture driven-cycle for direct air capture of CO2 is investigated. Physical sorbents will be manufactured using the Stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing technique and then their performance will be characterized for desorption and absorption of CO2. Future work will include optimizing the sorbent geometry to achieve high surface area to volume ratio to increase adsorption and desorption rates of CO2.
