Ag Nano Fern Cu Supported Bimetallic Electrocatalyst for Ammonia Electrogeneration from Nitrate Pollution

Nitrate pollution is a major issue in agricultural regions throughout the United States. This pollution can be converted into an added-value product – ammonia, which is one of the most important compounds for the global economy. Electrochemistry allows for a chemical-free conversion of nitrate pollution into an added-value product (ammonia). Ag nano fern Cu supported (Cu/Ag) electrocatalyst was able to achieve 95% conversion of nitrate solution in one hour of treatment, resulting in a 96% selectivity towards ammonia formation.
