Debug Box: Comparative Study of Microcontroller-Based Hardware-Level Debugging Efficiency

This research evaluates the debugging efficiency of different microcontrollers for CubeSat (a class of miniature satellites) applications. A “debugging box” system is developed by interfacing one microcontroller with another to identify and test faulty code, enabling analysis of latency, and reliability; cost of each device will also be taken into account. Results aim to determine the most effective microcontroller for low-cost, reliable CubeSat missions, improving accessibility to space technologies. Future work will expand testing across additional architectures and utilize a variety of debugging software, to further test the effectiveness of each microcontroller.
