Assessing Visuospatial Function Using the Shepard-Metzler Mental Rotation Task in an Online 3D Mode

Over the years, the Shepard-Metzler Mental Rotation Task (MRT) has proven to be a reliable tool for assessing people’s visuospatial ability. This study will compare the online 3D MRT to the 2D version, using this technique to examine how people learn and perform motor skills. The Ursina Engine is being used to create a 3D online MRT using the Python programming language. The research will be completed in both 2D and 3D online formats, with the outcomes assessed. The accuracy and reaction time will be useful in determining how people interact with their visuospatial surroundings.
