The Effect of Visual Anticipation of Changes in Floor Compliance in Human Gait
Is it possible to enhance the data collection and rehabilitation process of the gait cycle through Virtual Reality? The Human Oriented Robotics and Control (HORC) Lab is researching novel methods to apply Virtual Reality, in conjunction with a Variable Stiffness Treadmill (VST), to study how surface compliance changes alter human gait. The Virtual Reality headset, combined with the VST, will provide evidence about various motor mechanisms. Future work for this project will require evaluating the impact of visual and physical perturbations on gait.
