Using Smart-Device Metrics to Inform Music Streaming

People use music every day to alter their mood or energy level. The objective of this project is to harness the power of music to intentionally and precisely affect these feelings. This is done by analyzing metrics collected through a person’s phone or smartwatch like heart rate and then selecting the music that best encourages their target emotion, which in the scope of this project is motivation during physical activity. This can be used as a non-intrusive alternative to substances like caffeine or to help regulate the mood of a person with highly fluctuating emotions.
