Studying the potential of Immersed Boundary Methods by Simulating a Complicated Object in a Numerical Wind Tunnel
The objective of this project is to show the potential of the Immersed Boundary Methods by compiling and running an in-house Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code, called NGA, and simulating a complex geometry in a numerical wind tunnel. Once this project shows the potential of using the Immersed Boundary Methods for mesh analysis and simulations, then more precise models can be made to improve this method. This will lead to simulations with higher resolution for the interactions between complicated objects and fluids.
