Enhancing Atmospheric Water Harvesting with Cross-Flow Heat Exchangers

With water scarcity becoming a global concern, finding sustainable ways to extract water from the air is important. Atmospheric Water Harvesting (AWH) presents a promising solution, but many current systems struggle with inefficient heat exchange, limiting their ability to condense moisture effectively. This research explores how integrating cross-flow plate-fin heat exchangers can improve thermal regulation, boost water collection rates, and lower energy consumption. Our findings, based on computational modeling and experimental testing, demonstrate better heat transfer due to increased surface area. By refining AWH technology, this innovation has the potential to provide a reliable water source for communities in need.
