Desert WAVE

Desert WAVE (Women in Autonomous Vehicle Engineering), sponsored by the Si Se Puede Foundation, will compete in the RoboSub competition for the second time in 2020. Their AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle), Phoenix, is currently capable of motion in all 6 degrees of freedom, underwater manipulation, and highly accurate positioning. The team was formed to encourage collaboration across all branches of engineering, and to expose team members to the challenges they may face in the workforce. Their goal this year is to build a second AUV, improve vision and navigation, and introduce inter-vehicle communication between the robots.
