Flexible RF Coil Set in a Dielectric-Loaded Elastomer for MR Imaging

This research aims to develop a flexible, dielectric-loaded elastomer RF coil for MRI that adapts to irregular patient anatomies and positions while improving signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). By using high-permittivity dielectric materials inside a stretchable elastomer coating, the study aims to enhance RF magnetic field homogeneity and image quality. The proposed coil design could offer improved patient comfort and accessibility compared to rigid coils, making MRI more adaptable for various body shapes/sizes. This research investigates the impact of this novel coil on imaging performance in comparison with traditional (rigid) non-dielectric-loaded RF coils.
