Development of a Low-Power Electrostatic Dust-Repulsion System for Lunar Surface Solar Panels

Lunar dust sticks to solar panels, reducing power generation and threatening the reliability of long-duration surface missions. This research develops a low-power electrostatic dust-repulsion system that uses patterned electrodes and pulsed voltage to move dust off panel surfaces. A prototype will be created and tested with a lunar dust simulant under controlled conditions to measure dust-removal efficiency, power consumption, and durability. The research aims to support the development of more reliable solar energy systems for future lunar and planetary exploration.
