Visual and Persistent PDEVS Statecharts Models with Support for Super-ports and Super-connections

This research extends the Persistent Visual Modeler (PVM) framework to simplify complex simulation modeling for Digital Twins. It introduces a visual editor for the Parallel Discrete Event System Specification (PDEVS), supporting hierarchical statecharts with super-input and super-output ports connected through super-connections. Database integration using MongoDB enables efficient storage and retrieval of super-ports, super-connections, and statechart models. By unifying visual, logical, and persistent modeling, the enhanced PVM framework improves the development, reuse, and visualization of PDEVS models. Future work will focus on transforming statecharts into executable code for the DEVS-Suite simulator.
