Thermal Stability Characterization of Perovskite Solar Cells

Energy icon, disabled. An orange lightning bolt.

The question that this project seeks to address is: How does temperature cycling affect the operational stability of perovskite solar cells? With the high cost of silicon solar cell production, there is an opportunity arising in the manufacturing of cells with a particular molecular structure called perovskite. A fundamental aspect of solar panels is their ability to maintain their efficiency despite changes in temperature. Using the PAIOS characterization device and the Linkam LTS 420 thermal stage, this project is analyzing the mobile ion concentration present in the devices through each stage of the temperature cycle (lower concentration indicates improved stability).
