Thermal Diffusivity of Metal Powders for Use in Additive Manufacturing

Health icon, disabled. A red heart with a cardiac rhythm running through it.

This research aims to find the thermal diffusivity of different metal powders for use in additive manufacturing (AM). These findings allow for better understanding of material strengths and allows for the creation of better melt pool conditions for improved quality and safety of parts. Future work will involve creating possible medical implants and devices through the use of AM.
